LDD's Weekly Recap: July 1st - 7th

  
  We hope our fellow Americans enjoyed their holiday week (Independence Day) as much as we did!  We had a wonderful week both personally, and with Learning Domestic Discipline.  We added three new articles and sent out the July LDD Newsletter, all while enjoying fireworks and incredible food in the meantime.  Yes, we would say that qualifies as a pretty good week. :)

Mailbag Monday: Week 12 - We kicked off July by answering three tough questions including how to handle nervousness/hesitation before a spanking, if either one of us ever feel that I (Clint) am overbearing at times, and if DD can work if the HoH isn't responsible for every little thing.

I'm A Submissive Wife - Chelsea talks about how submission works in our marriage, and how her submissiveness to her husband doesn't necessarily mean she wants to be, or needs to be, "submissive" to everyone else.


Saturday Stories: "The Sun Break That Changed Our Marriage" - Guest writer Meredith, from the blog New Twist, After All These Years, shares how domestic discipline isn't just for the young, but the young at heart as well.

• Don't forget to check out the July Couples Challenge as we kick off a new month.
• We addressed the media articles one final time to put closure on the whole ordeal in a LDD Network blog post titled, "Beauty and the Daily Beast."  (Available to LDD Network members only)
• We tried our hardest to get all caught up on emails before we left for vacation, however we just couldn't get to them all.  We apologize for the delay if you're awaiting a response.  We'll be gone all week, but we'll return to LDD (and emailing) in the middle of July.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.
• This past week, a dear member of blogland, Bas, passed away. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends, and all those that loved and cared about him. His last entry brought tears to our eyes, and we're so saddened by the loss of a "Blogland Great". Rest peacefully, Bas. We will miss you. :(

LDD's Weekly Recap: June 17th - 23rd

  Hello Learning Domestic Discipline readers!  How was your week?  Oh, ours was...interesting.  Thanks for asking.  We changed things up a bit on the posting schedule.  Rather than post a Saturday Stories article from a fellow DD'er this week, we wrote a couple of personal domestic discipline stories ourselves, one of which was posted on Thursday.  If you missed anything, which would have been p r e t t y tough to do this week, we'll get you all up to speed.

Mailbag Monday: Week 11 - Chelsea sat this round of questions out, so I (Clint) answered questions about practicing domestic discipline when apart from your partner for months, whether or not the submissive partner should still be punished if the HoH "started it", and how my wife and I keep things "fresh" in our domestic discipline marriage in this week's Mailbag Monday post.

"Domestic Discipline is Abuse" - In the first of two personal stories from the heart, I (Clint) talk about how I reacted when I first heard about the domestic discipline lifestyle.  How similar is it to your initial reaction?

  We had a great week here at Learning Domestic Discipline!  We were asked another tough set of questions (AGAIN) in this week's Mailbag Monday post, and we're also offering yet another free download for readers/listeners to enjoy!  If you missed anything this week, we'll get you all caught up with the latest LDD happenings.

Five Things Friday: The Punishment Edition - Chelsea talks about her unfortunate punishment-filled week, a fellow DD blogger talks about "Stress Relief Spankings", and an all-too-real singles dating site that you never knew existed in this week's Five Things.  Oh, just WAIT until you see this one.

• We've received a number of requests for the new LDD eBooks.  We're working to make them available on sites such as Lulu, Amazon, etc.  as soon as we possibly can.  We'll also make them available on the LDD website in the very near future.  Once they're available, we'll announce it here on the blog and the LDD Twitter page.  We thank you in advance for your interest in the eBooks, and for your patience.
• The polls to begin voting for the LDD Retreat dates will be posted next week.  If you missed the announcement, the LDD Retreat location will be Galtinburg/Pigeon Forge, TN.
• We're working very hard to get the two latest LDD projects launched as soon as possible -- the DD Wives Club and the Download Site are both in the works.  It shouldn't be too much longer before they're launched!

  We slowed things down a bit the past few days as we celebrated our wedding anniversary week.  Thanks to all who wished us a happy anniversary!  We had a wonderful week as a family, and we're ready to get back on track with Learning Domestic Discipline.  Despite us taking the week "off", we kept our posting schedule on track with three new posts.  Take a look...

Mailbag Monday: Week 9 - It was a mixed bag of interesting questions this week.  We answered questions about why spanking is an important component to the domestic discipline lifestyle, what planet we'd choose to live on if Earth became too crowded, and we obliged to a very kind request from a fellow blogger.

Our Anniversary Week! - We took this week "off" from LDD to celebrate our wedding anniversary! :)

Saturday Stories: "Journey to My Contented Home!" - The first article from a fellow blogger in blogland was featured in this week's edition of Saturday Stories.  Kat, from the blog "My Contented Home", shares how making the domestic discipline aspect of her marriage more intense and structured substantially improved things for her and her husband.

• We announced in the June LDD Newsletter that our free download series will be getting its own site!  Look for that to launch later this month.

LDD's Weekly Recap: May 6th - 12th

Another week is in the books! But, before we get into the weekly recap, we want to wish all the mothers out there a very happy Mother's Day! As parents ourselves, we know how hard you work and you deserve this special day- we hope everyone has a great Mother's Day! 

This week's Mailbag Monday questions were really difficult to answer, and if you missed the Saturday Stories post, it's one that we feel every wife wanting or considering domestic discipline should read.  We think a lot of experienced couples will be able to relate to it as well.  Let's get you all caught up with this week's LDD content!

Mailbag Monday: Week 6 - We opened up about some things we personally struggle with in our own domestic discipline marriage, and we got a question that raised some concerns in this week's Mailbag Monday.  A reader was also kind enough to make us aware of a great new app!

Punishing When the Wife is Angry - Clearly it's important that the HoH not punish when he's angry, but what about times when the wife is angry?  We discuss and explore this topic and offer a way to work through the problem if you ever find yourself in that situation.

Saturday Stories: "The Reality of Starting Domestic Discipline" - Guest writer Liza wrote a wonderful article about having false expectations when first starting out with the domestic discipline lifestyle in this week's Saturday Stories feature.

• The DD Wives Club is getting closer to completion. We're building our own databases, so it's taking a lot longer than anticipated.  We know a lot of you are excited about it, and we are too!  Thanks for being so patient with us as we put it all together.  It'll be worth the wait!  In the meantime, you can sign up for the LDD Network here (your membership will automatically transfer over to the DD Wives Club).  Here's some information about the LDD Network if you aren't familiar with it.
• Unless we get an overwhelming number of requests for it, we're going to cancel our plans to create a comment archive.  It's a TON of work to do, and we're not feeling as though it would be worth the time and effort.  We'd rather use that time and effort on a bigger project that would better benefit the community.  We apologize for any disappointment this may have caused anyone.
• The LDD Springtime Promotions are currently running, and they offer TWO new products!  Find the right package for you!  (Promos end on June 1st, 2013)

• The Excellent Wife: Written by Martha Peace, The Excellent Wife is a scripture based book that focuses on improving your relationships with your husband, your children and God. • The Surrendered Wife: Like The Excellent Wife, The Surrendered Wife (written by Laura Doyle) explores what it means to be a submissive wife, ways to strengthen your marriage, and teaches/walks through how to give up the unnecessary control (which is important in a domestic discipline marriage). Although there are some parts of the book that I don't agree with, overall it's worth reading if you're starting (or are experienced with) domestic discipline. • Family Shepherds  Calling and Equipping Men to Lead Their Homes: If you're a Christian this book is great. It focuses on examining why being the Head of the Household is important, how to lead your family, and how to improve or strengthen your marriage. There's also quite a bit about parenting, and the Bible, in it so if those both apply to you it's definitely worth reading. You can purchase it here.
