This week has been nothing short of hectic, like every other week it seems.
My 1 Year No Spanking Challenge is well underway and I've almost passed the 1 month mark! 1 month almost down, 11 more months to go. Want to take the challenge with me? Comment on this entry, send me an email, whatever you want to do and we can all support each other in reaching the goal of not getting spanked for 1 year! :-)
I'm adding new ways for people to contact me, by request, because it takes me weeks sometimes to respond to emails. Check the Contact Me page after you're done reading this, if you're interested.
Another random thing: This past week I took my son to the park. When I got there, it appeared to be empty. After all, it was the middle of a weekday afternoon and the weather wasn't exactly fantastic. I was on the phone as we arrived to the park, and I was walking, talking on the phone, and carrying my son over to the playground. I was on the phone with another DD wife and I said, not very quietly, "well, when my husband spanks me....". A few seconds later I turned my head, only to see a guy sitting in the picnic shelter just starring at me like "wow". He look stunned, and it was obvious he heard me. Talk about awkward. When I meant I'm open about DD, I meant that I'm open about it if people ask or if I have an open opportunity to explain it to people. Not just blurt it out to random strangers at the park! I really should watch my mouth, lol. It was totally awkward. Needless to say, my son and I didn't stay there very long, at all.
Moving along.. this coming week I have a few blogs scheduled. I actually had a few scheduled this week too and I wondered why they didn't post. Then I looked and they were scheduled for 7/whatever day/2013. Yeah. Blonde moment. Sorry about that. They'll all be available this coming week for those who have asked. Sorry!
Additionally, if you all could please send your thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families of the Colorado Theater Shooting that would be very appreciated. It's a horrific situation. :-(
I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Hi Chelsea. The Denver shooting was horrible, our family live there and we were all worried, our nephew's friend waa in the screen next door!
ReplyDeleteRe:- year challenge, how do you try any harder thsn normal? I get a spanking approximately ever fortnight, but i dont seek it out, I dont think I could try any harder!
C
Wow that is so scary! I'm so glad your nephews friend was ok!
DeleteI think determination has a lot to do with how hard I'm trying. I REALLY want to do this. :)

Don't run yourself down by saying, "blonde moment". It implies a woman's hair colour makes her stupid - and that is so not true! You never hear brunettes saying things like that about themselves!
ReplyDeleteMaybe that guy at the park was secretly impressed - maybe you piqued his interest!
The Colorado thing was big news here in Australia too. We had one mass shooting in Australia twenty ago. The government changed all the gun laws, and we haven't had anything like that since. Something for the US government to consider... but unfortunately I don't think they'll be willing to make that sort of change.
Not to get too into politics, but I think the US should really change their gun laws too.
DeleteHopefully that guy at the park was secretly interested in DD- that would be wild if the first time he heard about it was from me. Lol.

I enjoyed your random thoughts. Very thoughtful ending. It is a very sad, tragic, and as you say...horrific situation.
ReplyDeleteI did laugh a little at the park encounter:)
Keep up the good work on your goal!!
Thank you!

Hi Chealsea--I'm pretty new to blogland and just recently stumbled across your blog. I've enjoyed reading it and decided to finally say hi.
ReplyDeleteI'll be back! :)
Welcome to blog land! Thanks for saying hi, Molly! Nice to meet you. :)

Chelsea,The guy in the park is probably still thinking about it!
ReplyDeleteWe had the same thing happen at a restaurant. My husband and I were talking about spanking positions, I thought we were being quiet and no one had any interest in us. I happened to glance at the couple in the next booth and the look on their faces was absolutely priceless! Oh well, gave them something to talk about and maybe even a few ideas :) !
He probably is, you're right! :)
DeleteLol I'm sure that couple at the restaurant it still talking about it too!

Way to go with your goal - keep up the good work - you will make it!
ReplyDeleteHad to laugh when I read about the guy in the park - good one. Who knows, you might have given him some ideas! ;)
Thoughts and prayers are definitely with the victims and their families of the Colorado Theater shooting. Such a sad situation for everyone. My heart also goes out to the shooters family - can only imagine how horrible the situation is for them.
I agree, I can't imagine what the shooters family is going through either. To have your son commit one of the worst mass murders in US history cannot be an easy thing to accept, or cope with.

Hi Chelsea, good luck with the challenge - keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteHad a good laugh at the guy in the park story. Bet that gave him something to think about lol. My husband has occasionally made the odd comment in public when I have been about to step across the line and that has resulted in some sideways looks.
The Colorado theatre shooting was indeed horrific and my thoughts are with the victims and families.
Thank you Roz!
DeleteWe aren't super "closed off" or "private" about DD, so I'm used to other people overhearing things occasionally, but at the same time, that park experience was still odd! It took me off guard, for sure.
