Road trips suck..

...when you're sore. :(

Over the weekend (well, from Saturday to Tuesday) I managed to get in trouble upwards of 5 times. Prior to that, I hadn't been in trouble in about 4 months. Talk about awful timing, since we left Wednesday for a cross country road trip/move.

I don't know what got into me. I don't know if I was "testing the rules", just going through a phase (and a bad one at that) or simply wasn't thinking. I think it's a good combination of all 3, the more I think about it.

The past couple months my husband had let up on the rules a little bit. Not a ton, but enough to where it changed my perception of what I would and wouldn't get in trouble for. When he began "cracking down again" the results definitely weren't in my favor.

I deserved each of the spanking I got, and the offenses were definitely serious, but I still really regret it. I don't think there is ever really a "good time" to get in trouble but there's definitely a bad time and this was it. Who gets in trouble this much before a 4-day road trip? That would probably be only me.

I'm definitely feeling the consequences. :(

  2. I can not ride in a vehicle with Dev and not get in trouble lol so my situation would be a reversal with the soreness at the end of the trip. :)

  3. Awwwww... I've been in that situation and it does suck... and hurt!

You know there is non-prescription numbing cream or spray available in drug stores? I don't know if you'd be allowed to use it (I'm not!), but if you can, stop at a drug store and pick up some and use that when you're driving. Clint likes creams from the pharmacy! :-)

    Above all, travel safely!

  4. Road trips are hard not to get into trouble on.. everybody stuck in such small quarters... easy for our mouths to write checks that our butts can't cash!! LOL

  5. This would be a good time to have "butt coolers" in your seat....as opposed to "butt warmers", as my kids call them!

  6. Um...it's definitely not only you that gets into trouble before big trips (as my husband can attest to, LOL)! Do we temporarily lose our ability to think? I'm not sure! But know you're not alone! And hopefully Clint lets you sit on something soft like a pillow? Just remember, now's the time to be very, very good! You can do it! 0:D And I'm praying for you guys as you travel!

  7. I know for me when something is coming up (good or bad stressor!) I tend to act worst. Not necessarily conscience behavior but because of the added stress. I wonder if the road trip didnt make you more stressed and thus the behavior? Im glad he was consistent though, and glad you accepted your part in it. I hope the trip wasnt too bad and you got to take a pillow to sit on!

  8. Man alive! Just getting organized and packed for a trip about puts me over the edge (we have 8 kids!). We do not take many overnight trips, thankfully, but the last one was fairly recently. After we were all loaded up, had prayed for safety travelling and been on the road 10 minutes or so, my husband very quietly said, "I should've taken you back in and spanked you." And sadly, I couldn't disagree... Glad you made it safely!

  9. Perhaps he was letting up a bit because of having a new baby? everytime we have another baby..things get out of sorts for awhile. I'm glad your road trip was good...green with envy that you got to meet ANOTHER DD couple.
